The Main Sands
Wide golden sandy bay with promenade. Tidal pool, amusement arcades on the opposite side of the road. Amazing sunsets.

Directly on the Main Sands beach in front of the tidal pool. Choose between a Nordic wood-fired barrel sauna or a modern electric cube sauna, both offering stunning sea views.

Walpole Bay Tidal Pool
Opened 1937. Grade II Listed. Believed to be the biggest tidal pool in the UK. Four acres. An amazing destination for cold water swimming/wild swimming. Great walk from behind Turner to the Lido and on to Walpole Bay Tidal Pool and on to Botany Bay. Louise successfully applied for this to be listed along with the Margate Cliff Lift.

Sandy beach with chalk cliffs, rock pools and fossil hunting. Named by The Times as one of the country's best secret beaches.

Sandy bay with promenade. Quieter than Main Sands.

Cliftonville Lido
1920s seafront lido has been derelict for years. Noted for its iconic illuminated tower and the mosaic mini stage on the filled-in pool, both have been featured in fashion shoots and music videos. The walls are an ever evolving canvas for talented graffiti artists. Concealed under all this are the subterranean Clifton Baths (Grade II* listed, 1824-28) carved into the cliffs. Not publicly accessible. One day!

National nature reserve. Wildlife, orchids, wetland birds. Picnic site and bird viewing hide.
